Offer description

University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles. This is in accordance with UKVI guidelines and legislation, as these roles do not meet the skill nor salary threshold for sponsorship. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role; however, UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa. You must also have at least six months remaining until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons.

Pharmacy Production Officer, Technical Services Band 4/5 depending on experience

Full time – equating to 37.5 hours per week. Part time will be considered.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated technician to join our well-established team in Technical Services as a Pharmacy Production Officer. The MHRA licensed ‘Specials’ pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a modern, purpose-built unit within the hospital. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy, and pre-pack (over labelling and re-packaging products) supplying both the Trust and external organizations. As a department, we constantly strive to re-engineer our services to improve our delivery of patient-focused pharmaceutical care and customer satisfaction.

As part of our manufacturing team, you will be expected to prepare products, including systemic anti-cancer therapies and intravenous nutrition. This will involve working in a controlled environment and wearing protective garments and shoes. The post holder will be expected to understand and follow standard operating procedures and have good manual dexterity. Following in-house training, the post holder will undertake in-process, pre-process, and final release of products.

To achieve this, you will need excellent organisational, communication, and computer skills, with a high degree of attention to detail, and you will need to work effectively with the existing team.

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country. Based across two sites, Royal Stoke in Stoke-on-Trent and County Hospital in Stafford, we serve around three million people and are highly regarded for our facilities, teaching, and research. We are the specialist centre for major trauma for the North Midlands and North Wales.

All our employees make a valuable contribution regardless of role here at UHNM. We are proud of our wide range of development packages aimed at ensuring everyone has the opportunity to fulfill their potential.

UHNM fosters a culture of inclusion, providing equal opportunities for career development that are fair and transparent. We are committed to being a diverse and inclusive employer where all staff feel valued and respected. We ask all our employees to commit to the values co-created by our staff, patients, and carers, which unite us as a Trust.

At University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, we believe that investing in, supporting, and developing our staff directly impacts the quality of care we deliver. Our employees are as important as our patients and the populations we serve.
