Overview

We are looking for a new member of staff to join our dedicated team.

Lane End Primary School is looking to appoint an inspirational and highly effective Assistant Headteacher on a permanent contract who is committed to supporting and achieving educational excellence for our pupils. Working alongside the Headteacher, you will play a pivotal role in building on the school's current strengths in teaching and learning, whilst supporting continual development and improvement though modelling a leadership style rooted in kindness, ambition for all and professional curiosity.

Term time only: No

Salary type: Leadership

Salary Details: L1-L7

Contract type: Permanent

Hours: Full-time

About you

We are looking for an Assistant Headteacher who:

7. Embodies the ethos and inclusive values of the school
8. Is deeply committed to inclusion, equity and the achievement of every child
9. Can engage effectively with parents and families
10. Delivers and champions high quality teaching and learning that is rooted in evidence based research, securing strong pupil progress and outcomes
11. Uses robust assessment, tracking and intelligent data analysis to inform strategy
12. Has secure curriculum knowledge across EYFS and KS1 and understands the importance and effective delivery of continuous provision for young children
13. Holds high expectations for behaviour, attitudes and achievement
14. Is reflective, emotionally intelligent and committed to continuous improvement
15. Builds strong, trust based relationships with pupils, staff, families and external partners
16. Can help lead with courage and compassion, balancing warmth and care with challenge
17. Understands the importance of safeguarding children and supports an active safeguarding culture within the school

Key Responsibilities:

18. Maintain excellence in teaching and Learning with a 0.5 (FTE) teaching commitment
19. Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning through data analysis, observations, pupil outcomes and professional dialogue.
20. Line-manage teachers and support staff, ensuring consistency of practice and high expectations.
21. Oversee EYFS and KS1, maintaining strengths and leading their continuous development
22. Lead on the development of English across the school, including phonics
23. Support and continue to develop the successful work undertaken for the school's application for Voice 21 Oracy Centre of Excellence
24. Undertake the role of Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and Designated Teacher for Looked After Children
25. Work with all members of staff to ensure vulnerable children are supported through the implementation of the school's Pupil Premium Strategy
