What it's like to work here
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon and there will be an expectation for you to attend the office. However, there is flexibility on where you are based at other times. You will be required to work at a National Trust location for 40-60% of your working week. This will be discussed in more detail at interview.
What you'll be doing
The IT Senior Engineer (Linux-DBA) plays a key role within the Hosting Services team, which is responsible for maintaining both Azure-based and on-premises infrastructure. This includes comprehensive support for Windows and Linux operating systems, along with SQL Server platforms.
The engineer’s primary focus is on managing and ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the Linux and SQL Server environments.
Who we're looking for
Applications from redeployees are assessed against the minimum criteria for the role. In your application, please provide details of how you meet the minimum criteria below:
* Experience of 3rd Line support in an Infrastructure support team
* Experience of working with Cloud Technologies such as Azure and AWS
* Practical experience of supporting Microsoft SQL Server with a variety of resilience configurations
* Proven ITIL background
* Experience in a line management or mentor capacity
Additional criteria for all other applicants:
* Knowledge of Linux operating systems
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must be able to manage internal IT, business and supplier stakeholders.
* Commitment to self-development and be enthusiastic about acquiring new skills and embracing new technologies
