Job Details
Community Use is the team that works to ensure most halls, community centres and schools in Fife are available for learning, leisure, life, and cultural events. The role will support operation and delivery of Community Use programmes, with a focus on pool operations and customer service.
You will be expected to ensure the safety of all swimming pool users by responding to rescue or first aid incidents, reporting them to the lead officer, and ensuring documentation.
You will ensure the area is set up according to booking requirements and that facilities are opened and secured at prescribed times. You will keep the poolside and changing facilities clean and tidy in line with health and safety procedures.
You will engage with customers and user groups to ensure a positive experience of Council services.
You will contribute to the Community Use Plan, Service Improvement Plan, and other relevant strategy documents.
The normal working week is 36 hours, which may include evenings and weekends depending on opening hours and bookings.
Responsibilities
* Respond to rescue or first aid incidents and report them to the lead officer; ensure documentation is completed
* Set up facilities in line with booking requirements; open and secure facilities at prescribed times
* Maintain poolside and changing facilities in a clean and safe condition
* Engage with customers and user groups to provide a positive experience
* Support achievement of priorities in Community Use plans and related strategy documents
The Person / Qualifications
* Enthusiastic, self-motivated, with good customer service skills and experience of working with the public
* Understanding of First Aid and Health & Safety regulations; knowledge of manual handling
* Ideally, knowledge of fire safety regulations, risk assessments, building compliance requirements and pool plant room operations
* Good communication skills and customer-focused approach
* Well-organised with the ability to manage conflicting demands
* A number of required competencies:

o Able to provide a regular and effective service

An NPLQ Qualification is required; experience in a leisure environment is advantageous. IT skills to use required computer systems are needed. You may be required to obtain a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Membership or Disclosure Check.
