As a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), you will be responsible for:
* Monitoring Performance: Assisting in the tracking of supplier quality (e.g., PPM, defect trends) and driving improvement.
* Problem Solving: Helping investigate quality issues using root cause analysis (8Ds, 5 Whys) and supporting rapid containment actions.
* Technical Reviews: Reviewing supplier documentation, including inspection reports and PPAP submissions.
* Auditing: Supporting both internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with IATF16949 and ISO9001 standards.
* Collaboration: Working closely with Purchasing and Engineering teams to resolve incoming quality issues.
* Documentation: Maintaining accurate supplier records and quality management system data.
Successful applicants must be able to demonstrate:
* A Technical Foundation: A qualification (or currently working towards one) in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
* Analytical Mindset: A proactive, eager-to-learn attitude with a logical approach to problem-solving.
* Engineering Literacy: The ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and geometric tolerances.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external suppliers.
* The Basics: Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Excel) and a full UK driving license for future supplier visits.
* Desirable: Any exposure to quality tools (APQP, PPAP, PFMEAs) or manufacturing processes (casting, forging, or pressing) is a distinct advantage.
