Do you get genuine satisfaction from seeing a perfectly formatted quote go out error-free? Do you spot problems before they become issues? C an you juggle multiple priorities without dropping any balls? We're looking for a Sales Administrator who's brilliant at the details but can see the bigger picture too. And we're genuinely flexible on hours. Here's the Honest Truth We need help. Right now. We've got a backlog of quotes to get through, contract renewals coming up fast (they always do in January), and we need someone who can jump in, get organized, and help us catch up while maintaining quality. This isn't a glamorous role description. It's admin work. Quote generation, renewal management, CRM updates, error-checking, process-following admin work. But here's why it's interesting: This role is perfect for part-time because much of the work is project-based (finish a batch of quotes, complete renewals) rather than constant client-facing work. You can be highly productive in 4 to 5 hours a day. And as you learn our business – our products, our clients, our services – this role naturally evolves. You'll start spotting opportunities, having client conversations, and developing into a more strategic role. Plus, as your circumstances change (kids get older, caring responsibilities shift), the role can grow with you. More hours, more responsibility, more strategic work. What ‘Flexible’ Actually Means We're genuinely open to the right working pattern for the right person: 9:30am-2:30pm school hours? Perfect. 4 days per week? Great. 25-30 hours spread across the week however works for you? Let's talk. Term-time only with adjusted hours during holidays? We can make that work. What matters most is finding someone brilliant who can work the hours that suit their life while helping us get this work done. We've even thought about hiring two part-time people who can cover each other – so if that's you and you know someone else who'd be perfect, tell us! What You'll Actually Be Doing Day-to-day: Generating quotes for IT hardware, software, and services Managing contract renewals (mainly schools and academies) Administering software subscriptions (Adobe, Microsoft, etc.) Maintaining CRM and ensuring nothing falls through cracks Creating proposals and client documentation Triple-checking everything before it goes out (that £5k quote shouldn't say £500) Supporting the technical team with sales-related admin As you settle in (so after the first 3-6 months): Direct client conversations about renewals and opportunities Identifying upsell opportunities (‘They use product X, why not Y?’) Feeding back process improvements Taking ownership of the quote-to-renewal cycle Potentially increasing your hours as your circumstances allow What We Need Essential: Meticulous attention to detail (seriously, this is non-negotiable) Strong admin skills and organisational ability Comfortable with numbers, pricing, calculations Clear communication (written and verbal) Quick learner with new systems Ability to spot when something doesn't add up Personal qualities that matter more than experience: Reliability (when you're here, you're fully present and productive) You ask questions rather than guess You're proactive – you see what needs doing and do it You stay calm when it's busy You're genuinely curious and want to understand what we're selling You work efficiently in your available hours Nice to have but we'll train you: Experience in sales admin or quote management Knowledge of IT products/services Understanding of schools or public sector Previous MSP experience What You Get Salary if full-time: £35,000 FTE (pro-rata based on your hours) Salary for part-time (25 hours per week): £21,875 per year Benefits (all pro-rata): Full private medical insurance (including existing conditions!) with option to add family Death in service benefit Pension Holiday: 21 days bank holidays birthday off 1 extra day per year of service Regular social events (we actually like each other) Free parking in Wigan The Real Benefits: Genuine flexibility around working hours and patterns Clear progression path as the role evolves Training on products, services, and systems Supportive team where asking questions is encouraged Work with education sector clients (making a real difference) Understanding that your outside commitments matter Opportunity to increase hours as your circumstances change Work Environment: Office-based in Hindley Green, Wigan Hours flexible to suit your needs Kitchen for proper lunch breaks Mix of focused solo work and team collaboration New and improved lighting being installed Why Part-Time Works Here This role is genuinely suited to part-time because: Much of the work is project-based (not constant 8.30am to 5pm client demands) You can be highly productive in focused 4 to 5 hour days The team can cover for urgent queries during your off hours Quality matters more than quantity of hours As we grow, perhaps you could job-share or have someone cover you We're not compromising by offering part-time. We're being realistic about what the role needs and flexible about how we find the right person. About abtec Managed IT We've been doing this for 30 years. Microsoft Gold Partner, Crown Commercial Supplier, specializing in cloud solutions and cyber security for the education sector and beyond. We're not a flashy startup or a corporate machine. We're a stable, growing MSP where people build careers. We have engineers who've been here 20 years. That doesn't happen by accident – it happens because we treat people well, invest in development, and create a good place to work. Our clients are mainly schools and academies. That means our work directly impacts education, which is pretty rewarding. The Honest Bits Why this role matters: Every quote you generate represents a project that keeps schools running and our team busy. Every renewal maintains relationships built over years (sometimes decades). Every error you catch saves us from looking unprofessional or losing margin. You're the foundation that lets our technical team focus on service delivery and our directors focus on growth. Without someone doing this brilliantly, everything suffers. What the first few months look like: Busy. You'll be learning fast, asking lots of questions (which we encourage), and helping us catch up on that backlog. But you won't be alone – we'll train you properly and support you through it. Who this suits: Parents managing school drop-offs and pick-ups People with caring responsibilities for elderly relatives Anyone wanting a better work-life balance without sacrificing career progression Experienced professionals who want to work but not full-time People returning to work after a career break Who this doesn't suit: Someone who wants to work from home (you need to be in the office learning the business) Someone who finds detailed admin work boring or frustrating How to Apply This role is being handled exclusively by Helen at HFBAC.
