You’ll work as part of the web team, your work will involve:
* Creating and managing websites
* Working with developers to fix website issues or develop new functionality
* Meeting internal clients to work out what they need
* Working with our developers and web host to deliver solutions
* Creating plans and prototypes with colleagues to decide how the website orapplication will work
* Testing code in different programming languages
* Building databases and transfering information between databases usingApplications Program Interfaces (APIs)use software to create the layout of buttons, links and pictures
Who we are looking for…
As a Web Develop Support Officer we would expect you to:
* Have knowledge of web CMS systems, knowledge of Drupal and LocalGovDrupal is preferable
* Understand the web accessibility requirements for gov.uk websites and apps
* Understand website security best practise
* Be thorough and pay attention to detail
* Have the ability to write code in various programming languages
* Demonstrate ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical colleagues
* Demonstrate analytical thinking skills
* Be flexible and open to change
* Show you can use your initiative
* Have experience of agile working within project teams
