Senior Auditor Vacancy Available
Rate: Negotiable – the Council want quotes from candidates
Venn Group are currently supporting Lancashire County Council with their search to find a Senior Auditor to start at short notice to work in the Internal Audit team.
The contract will be running until at least the end of March 2026 and the successful candidate will be expected to work on a hybrid basis (1-2 days on site per week).
Main duties of the job:
1. Undertaking audit testing (not all audits will need on site testing but some may)
2. Supporting the development of the Internal Audit Service and its professional objectives
3. Taking responsibility for the audit of a portfolio of large and relatively complex audit engagements within the county council and its external clients
4. Participating in meetings with clients and attending the monthly team meeting
5. Providing assurance over the county council's internal control environment, risk management and governance
The successful candidate must have:
6. Experience of working for a local authority previously and will have knowledge of Council systems
7. Experience of working in an internal audit team
