Senior Energy Consultant - Heat Network role at Turner & Townsend
Sustainable energy and decarbonisation focus with Turner & Townsend. Our team is expanding in the UK to meet growing demand across varied client bases, delivering sustainability services in energy consumption, carbon emissions reduction, and Net Zero objectives.
Responsibilities
* Demonstrate experience or capability in Heat Network (HN) and wider Distributed Energy (DE) projects or programmes.
* Engage in distributed energy resources planning, including heat networks, solar PV, heat pumps, energy storage, demand-side flexibility, and EV charging integration where applicable.
* Experience of project development (scoping, business case, finance, high level technical) for schemes involving heat networks and local energy networks/smart grid, potentially including battery storage and home EV charging integration.
* Support delivery across project stages such as feasibility, commercialisation, procurement, and delivery to help overcome barriers to DE.
* Apply knowledge of DE solutions across multiple technologies and maintain strong client relationship management.
* Understand metering and billing regulations and be aware of Government policy surrounding heat networks.
* Demonstrate programme management, reporting, and organisational skills; apply knowledge of energy demands in buildings and relevant regulations and design codes (e.g., Building Regulations Part L).
Qualifications
We are looking for experienced talents to join our growing team, bringing in further specialism of HN and DE across a range of commissions. You are expected to have some or all of the following competencies
Essential
* High quality service delivery and client management
* Consultancy experience within DE and HN projects
* Successful track record in facilitating and delivering DE schemes across varied client organisations and achieving project or programme KPIs
* Track record in overcoming barriers to DE through one or more project stages such as Feasibility, Commercialisation, Procurement, Delivery of projects
* Working knowledge and experience in DE solutions, covering multiple technologies
* Excellent customer relationship development capability
* Good grasp of metering and billing regulations and awareness of Government policy surrounding HN
* Programme management, reporting and organisational skills
* Working knowledge of energy demands in buildings and relevant regulations/design codes (e.g., CP1, Building Regulations Part L)
Preferred
* Business development experience
* Stakeholder engagement experience
* Development of energy strategies and master planning for DE
* Ability to carry out DE data analysis
