37 hours per week An opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Surveyor in the Planned Investment Team. The job holder reports to the Planned Investment Manager and will liaise with the Maintenance Surveyors and Trade Supervisors in the Section. The Contracts Surveyor is expected to undertake property surveys to assess condition and for specific improvement works. They are required to support the development of contract specifications and closely manage schemes when they are on site to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a good quality standard. The post holder is also expected to consult with tenants about improvement works and deal with enquiries and complaints. To do this they need to be able to deal with contractors and work in conjunction with other staff in the Maintenance Section as well as the Tenancies and Neighbourhoods Team The post grade requires extensive trade knowledge and either an ONC or the NVQ equivalent. The post holder is expected to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and be able to work out of hours on occasions if there is a serious technical issue to be resolved. A full driving licence and use of a car for work is essential.
