Machine Operative People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Machine Operative to join our well-established client based in Irlam, Manchester. Shifts : Monday to Friday, 06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 (rotating weekly) Pay rate: £13.21 per hour. Overtime after 37.5 hours is £18 per hour. Benefits include: Weekly pay On-site canteen facility Long-term opportunities On-site parking Temp to Perm Contract Overtime available Day-to-day duties: As a Machine Operative, your duties will include (but not be limited to): Review specifications to determine page sequence, type of fold and page or sheet size. Enter cutting positions in proper order into computer memory. Remove sheets of printed or unprinted paper stack from the load and place them on the cutter bed. Jog and align sheets against the cutter guide in preparation for cutting. Activate computer to move sheets into first cut position. Activate double hand switches to begin cutting operation. Examine cut material for any imperfections and adjust computer program as needed. Remove finished or pre-finished material from the cutter bed and stack on pallets for shipment to the customer or next operation. Record job information on load tags and time sheets. Essential skills: To be successful as a Machine Operative, you will need: Previous machine operation and machinery skills Previous experience working on a cutting machine is an advantage. Experience in a manufacturing environment Experience operating a cutting machine. Quality control expertise Proficiency in using hand tools Strong communication skills The ability to work effectively in a team environment Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Wanting to progress within the company. Math skills; GCSE C / Grade 5 and above. PC Skills Being able to deal with time frames and high pressure. Manual handling involved up to 25kg. Must be able to get to the site for 0600am. And have transport to get home at 2000. Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required Training : Full training will be provided on-site, with continued development opportunities.
