Overview
Infection Prevention & Control Nurse Lead role at HwC Ventures. The post holder will be part of the senior IPC leadership team, providing expert infection prevention and control (IPC) leadership, advising across services, and supporting implementation of IPC frameworks, policy and guidance.
The role requires cross-site working, leadership in risk mitigation, and the ability to adapt to meet service needs while maintaining a safe and optimal IPC service across the Trust.
Responsibilities
* Act as a subject matter expert in IPC, integrating research evidence into practice and providing highly expert professional infection control advice and leadership decisions.
* Lead and coordinate IPC environmental audits, work autonomously to lead IPC investigations, and report outcomes in a timely manner.
* Represent IPC on relevant committees and contribute to development and implementation of IPC guidelines and initiatives.
* Develop systems and structures that support safe IPC practices and oversee IPC data reporting, monitoring team compliance through the IQVIA system, and follow up where standards fall below expectations.
* Hold managerial responsibility for leading, coordinating, and performing Faecal Immunochemical Test (FIT) testing across relevant services.
* Collaborate with the Head of Physical Health and PHSPs to promote the physical health of service users as part of the Trust’s wider Physical Health agenda.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Demonstrated advanced IPC knowledge and leadership experience as a senior nurse or clinical IPC expert.
* Ability to work across sites, adapt to changing service needs, and lead cross-functional teams.
* Experience with IPC data reporting, audit processes, and use of IPC-related information systems.
* Experience in leading investigations and risk management in clinical and operational settings.
