Nicholas Howard are excited to be recruiting for an ambitious and fast growing International Tech client who are looking to bring on board a Head of Direct Tax as they continue to scale. In a higly visible role, reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for leading the international corporate tax function across multiple jurisdictions.We are looking for candidates with expertise in corporate taxation and transfer pricing, and the ability to manage complex cross-border tax matters whilst ensuring compliance with evolving international tax regulations. You will also play a key role in the emerging Pillar 2 implementation work, so a great opportunity to lead on a high profile project.The key requirements of the role are as follows...ResponsibilitiesCorporate Tax ManagementOversee corporate tax compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions including UK, EU, Americas, and Asia-Pacific regionsManage corporate tax provisions, computations, and annual tax returns for group entitiesLead tax planning initiatives to optimise the group's effective tax rate whilst maintaining complianceCoordinate with local tax advisers and ensure adherence to local tax regulationsReview and approve significant tax positions and uncertain tax treatmentsDevelop and maintain transfer pricing policies aligned with OECD guidelines and local regulationsPrepare and review transfer pricing documentation and country-by-country reportingConduct economic analyses to support arm's length pricing for intercompany transactionsManage transfer pricing audits and advance pricing agreement negotiationsMonitor changes in transfer pricing legislation and assess impact on group operationsLead the implementation of OECD Pillar 2 global minimum tax rules across the groupCalculate and monitor effective tax rates for each jurisdiction under the GloBE frameworkPrepare Pillar 2 information returns and coordinate with local filing requirementsDevelop systems and processes for ongoing Pillar 2 compliance and reportingAssess qualifying domestic minimum top-up tax opportunitiesStrategic Tax PlanningProvide strategic tax advice on corporate restructuring, acquisitions, and disposalsEvaluate tax implications of new business initiatives and expansion into new marketsCollaborate with finance, legal, and business teams on tax-efficient structuringMonitor international tax developments and assess impact on group tax strategyTeam Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementLiaise with senior management, external advisers, and tax authoritiesPresent tax matters to board of directorsCoordinate with group finance teams on tax accounting and financial reportingQualificationsQualifications & ExperienceProfessional tax qualification (CTA, ADIT, or equivalent)Minimum 8-10 years of corporate tax experience with Big 4 or multinational corporationExtensive knowledge of international tax principles and cross-border transactionsProven experience in transfer pricing documentation and economic analysisUnderstanding of OECD BEPS initiatives, (desirable Pillar 2)Technical SkillsExpert knowledge of UK corporate tax and international tax treatiesStrong understanding of EU tax directives and anti-avoidance measuresExperience with tax technology platforms and data analytics toolsProficiency in financial modelling and tax computation softwareKnowledge of US, European, and Asian tax systems advantageousCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlinesCommercial awareness and business partnering skillsPreferred QualificationsKnowledge of indirect taxes (VAT/GST) and customs dutiesFamiliarity with ESG reporting and sustainability taxationThis opportunity represents a unique chance to play a key role in the continued growth of a highly ambitious business, with impactful work being delivered at a key time for the organisation.
