Overview
Your contractual location will be our head office (Heelis) in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The team meet in Heelis, so there is expectation to attend the office regularly.
What you'll be doing
As the Lead Developer you will architect and implement new features and technologies. Our agile teams are proud of the quality products they produce; quality is everything and you must demonstrate this. You will care about the user\'s experience and ensuring our products are accessible. You will collaborate with our UI/UX designer to turn designs into production-ready features. You will be involved in delivering changes across the full software stack: from front-end Typescript React applications, Java/Spring microservices, a range of databases, AWS cloud infrastructure and services. You will assist with the maintenance of our CI/CD pipelines built upon Jenkins / GitOps / Kubernetes, and you\'ll also collaborate with our WebOps team to build out new cloud infrastructure or troubleshoot production incidents. You will actively keep up to date with the latest industry trends and will have the ability and interest to learn new skills as part of the role. You may also be required to support our intranet.
Responsibilities
* Worked using an Agile Software Delivery approach and experience of working within a highly collaborative and cross-functional Agile environment.
* Background in development and maintenance of web-based product solutions with a focus on quality, performance, reliability, scalability, and resiliency.
* Core technical experience includes: Java 11+ enterprise web development, Spring, REST/GraphQL APIs and Microservices; modern web frameworks (React, JavaScript/TypeScript); familiarity with AngularJS v1.4, jQuery is advantageous; Maven, Git and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins); emphasis on Unit, Functional and Integration Testing; Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence).
* Experience with containerization (Docker / Kubernetes) and databases (Elasticsearch, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).
* Experience building and architecting cloud-native applications (AWS, Kubernetes, Serverless, Event-driven architectures).
* Familiar with BDD and Cucumber; familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Kibana.
* Experience building and maintaining public-facing websites and supporting applications / APIs in small cross-functional agile teams; emphasis on continuous improvement.

* Salary: base £55,000 with a £5,000 reviewable market supplement (inclusive of the advertised salary).
