An opportunity to join an exciting organisation as a Welder.
The purpose of the role you will be responsible for to weld metal components to produce finished goods that will be susceptible to all forms of post weld inspection/NDE
You will be working as part of the fabrication and welding team ensuring that manufactured parts/ fabrications meet customer requirements and that these are provided in a timely manner.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
* Manually weld steel parts (carbon steel, high tensile steels, hardened & stainless steels) using parameters set out by welding procedures; using predominately manual gas shielded metal arc processes (bare wire & flux core processes) to BS EN 15614-1 and BSEN287 standards and predetermined procedures.
* Follow all safe working practices.
* Understand drawings (weld symbols) and materials.
* Grind of clean weld joint of work pieces prior to welding.
* Use disc grinders and chippers to smooth out, weld, or grind parts post welding.
* Operate manual and semi-automatic welding units.
* Carry out visual examination of weld for bead size and other specific specification.
* Repair improperly welded pieces to specific procedures.
* Clean-up work area daily.
