Job Purpose:
We’re looking for a Claims Handler—at Claims Handler or Senior level—to join our IRM team.
In this role, you’ll manage end-to-end marine cargo claims, collaborate with internal teams and external partners, and ensure timely, effective, and high‑quality resolution of claims. You’ll also support cross‑border initiatives, share best practices, and contribute to continuous process improvements, helping DHL deliver a reliable and world‑class claims service.

Your tasks:
Business Alignment with DHL Operations:
* Embrace DHL’s culture of professionalism, integrity, and collaboration in claims handling.
* Drive early, economic resolution of customer claims and implement workable solutions.
* Build cross‑border relationships and share best practices across the IRM network.
* Recommend process improvements and create standard reports for monitoring and benchmarking.
* Participate in claims management meetings and ensure smooth information exchange with business units.
Delivery of Subject Matter:
* Handle end‑to‑end claims, including adjusting and subrogation, ensuring consistency and reliability.
* Provide technical support to claims handlers and oversee significant claims.
* Advise business managers on settlements versus legal liability.
* Monitor KPIs, service quality, and collaborate with external partners (insurers, loss adjusters, surveyors).
* Contribute to claims dashboards and share data to support cost reduction and service improvement initiatives.
Management:
* Provide technical education, guidance, and mentoring to team members.
* Deliver training and support continuous professional development of the team.
* Implement claims manuals and process improvements in line with global IRM standards.
* Provide analytics and reporting to support performance management and decision‑making.
Your profile:
* Experience in high‑volume marine cargo claims; end‑to‑end claims handling including adjusting and subrogation.
* Experience working with external professionals (insurers, loss adjusters, lawyers) and cross‑border collaboration within a matrix organization.
* Track record in implementing claims KPIs, metrics, and risk measurement tools.
* Strong analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation, and decision‑making skillsli>
* Ability to stay focused and organized in a fast‑moving environment, managing ongoing claims while adapting quickly to new priorities or cases that may require timely attention.
* Excellent communication skills, including consultative and soft‑selling approaches.
* Fluent in English (additional languages desirable).
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* Commutable to Ipswich, UK.
* Experience in mentoring, training, or supporting junior colleagues (for senior level).
