Job Details As a Childcare Practitioner you will be expected to: Plan, facilitate and supervise a wide range of play-based activities and social experiences both in and outdoors. This will include setting up the play space to ensure it is safe, stimulating and welcoming. Empower children to lead their own play, guiding them on as needed to boost their creativity and independence. Support children to prepare healthy snacks in line with dietary and nutritional need and guidelines. Support and encourage children to build confidence, self-esteem, and lifelong skills through play and exploration. Deal with accidents and incidents, responding calmly and professional, ensuring children’s health and wellbeing needs are met. The Person We are therefore looking for someone who: is fun, engaging and has experience of working with children and young people of all ages. holds a relevant childcare qualification, or is willing to work towards one as required by the Scottish Social Services Council. is reliable, has good communication skills and can work as part of a team. Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme. As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration. If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months. If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe. More details are included in the role profile.
