Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Clinical Support Workers to work in the community. The post holder will support the District Nurse in delivering an efficient and high quality nursing service using evidence based practice to a wide range of patients within the locality.
We are looking to recruit a Clinical Support Worker to work in the Hailsham locality.
It is essential that you have NVQ or equivalent, excellent team working and communication skills and the desire to share knowledge and work within an inter-professional framework.
You will be required to work flexibly; we work 7 days a week (08:00–18:00) which will include weekends and bank holidays.
Main Duties of the Job
This is a community post and therefore you must have access to a car and hold a current driving license. You will also be expected to support students as part of their basic training and colleagues as part of their ongoing professional development.
The post holder will need to attend a period of induction and training before commencing in the role.
* Provide delegated clinical procedures, dependent on training such as (but not limited to) venepuncture, wound care, insertion/removal of urinary catheter and catheter care.
* Administration of subcutaneous or topical medication (after additional training with competency checks)
* Take patients’ vital signs, blood pressure, pulse, pulse oximetry, height, weight, neurological assessment, respirations, urinalysis, blood glucose and escalate concerns in line with policy.
* Recognise deteriorating patients and follow the escalation process; safeguard the well‑being and health of patients by reporting concerns.
* Document care actions and findings using the electronic patient record.
* When required, undertake personal care duties such as toileting, bathing and dressing/undressing.
* When required, assist with eating and drinking in line with the care plan from a Registered Professional.

* Relevant experience of working in a health or social care environment delivering personal care or health care experience gained through an education programme.
Experience – Desirable
* Relevant experience working in the NHS.
