Middle Office Business Analyst – Energy Trading

Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Middle Office Business Analyst to join a global Energy Trading environment supporting Gas, Power, LNG and Environmental products.
The role sits within a high‑performing technology and trading ecosystem, partnering closely with Trading, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Technology teams to deliver strategic initiatives across the trade lifecycle.
This position is ideal for someone with strong commodities trading knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills and experience working across complex system integrations within trading environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Gather, analyse and document business requirements
* Translate business needs into user stories and functional specifications
* Work closely with Trading, Operations, Risk and Technology teams
* Support Agile delivery across multiple projects and platforms
* Participate in sprint planning, refinement sessions and UAT activities
* Drive process improvements across Middle Office workflows
* Support reconciliations, reporting and operational controls
* Analyse integrations between trading platforms, ETRM systems and downstream applications
* Contribute to strategic initiatives and system enhancement projects
Required Experience
* Strong Business Analysis experience within commodities or Energy trading
* Good understanding of the trade lifecycle across physical and derivatives products
* Experience within Gas, Power, LNG or Energy markets
* Exposure to ETRM/CTRM platforms
* Knowledge of exchange traded and OTC products
* Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
* Experience with SQL, APIs and system integrations is advantageous
Preferred Knowledge
* Regulatory reporting exposure (REMIT/EMIR)
* Reconciliations and operational workflows
* Market data and pricing integrations
* Exchange onboarding and connectivity projects
