Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scottish Trauma Group Co-ordinator (STAG) post within Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the main duties of the post holder will be to contribute to the aims of STAG for trauma patients. This will involve ensuring that complete, accurate, and timely data is available on an ongoing basis to support the review of the quality of care and associated outcomes, and to enable improvements in care to be identified and implemented. Experience of health research/clinical audit/data management/health information is essential.
All other roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHSGGC can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern
* Location based in Royal Alexandra Hospital, Orthopaedics
* Permanent Contract
* Full-time position (36 hours per week)
* Shift pattern for this post are Monday to Friday
Key responsibilities
* Be responsible for developing and implementing methods of comprehensive case ascertainment to identify patients eligible for inclusion in the audit/register using data from IT systems, case notes, ward records and multidisciplinary meetings, according to national inclusion/exclusion criteria.
* Be responsible for accurate and reliable data collection and input of audit data information via standard proformas to the STAG.
* Develop relationships with clinicians and other staff to ensure all appropriate patients are included in the audit/register and to seek guidance on clinical conditions/terminology.
* Prepare and present audit reports locally in various formats (written reports, tables, charts, formal presentations) in addition to central reports produced by the national audit/registry team.
* Disseminate audit reports enabling inter-hospital comparisons and improvements in performance by measuring progress against local and national targets, reporting as necessary and taking action to resolve problems.
* Liaise regularly with the national audit/registry team to adhere to national guidance locally, attend National Audit Coordinator meetings, and participate in the further development of the audit/register.
* Liaise with other hospitals and care providers to complete required national audit/register requirements (e.g., rehabilitation services, Scottish Ambulance Service, Allied Health Professionals).
* Responsible for the quality assurance of audit data submitted to the national audit/register team, working closely to correct any validation queries.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience
Essential
* Registered clinician, e.g. registered nurse/AHP with evidence of current registration.
* Post-registration experience at band 5 or equivalent in relevant clinical area.
* Experience of health research/clinical audit/data management/health information.
* Well-developed organisational skills
* Consistent attention to detail
* Positive and flexible approach with good time management
* Able to work as a team member and autonomously
Desirable
* Statistical awareness
