Job Description
This position plays a critical role in fostering a positive labor environment, managing employee relations in a unionized setting, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and driving HR strategies that support plant operations. The ideal candidate will have 5 to 10 years of progressive HR experience, with a strong background in labor relations, employee engagement, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary HR contact for plant leadership and union representatives.
* Administer and interpret collective bargaining agreements (CBAs); manage grievances, arbitrations, and contract negotiations.
* Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies to ensure staffing levels meet production goals.
* Coach and support managers on employee relations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws, including OSHA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO.
* Implement and oversee safety programs in collaboration with EHS personnel.
* Analyze HR metrics and develop action plans to improve workforce performance and engagement.
* Manage training and development initiatives to build employee capabilities and support career growth.
* Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.
* Support, equity, and (DEI) efforts within the plant.
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree or HR certification ).
* 5 to 10 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Demonstrated experience working in a unionized environment and handling labor relations matters.
* In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
* Proven ability to build trust and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees and management.
* Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
This role will sit ONSITE out of the Wilmington, DE facility.
