Role
Senior Architect (Belfast)
We are seeking a Senior Architect with a minimum of 7 years post‑qualification experience to join our Belfast team. The successful candidate will have proven expertise in both Republic of Ireland and UK contexts.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead projects through all RIAI/RIBA work stages, from concept to completion.
* Prepare and submit feasibility studies, planning applications, fire safety certificates, disability access certificates, and building control documentation.
* Manage design development and technical delivery, ensuring compliance with building regulations, statutory requirements, and sustainability standards.
* Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities.
* Manage the BCAR process: assemble associated information for tender and commencement and oversee compliance during construction through to handover.
* Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative studio culture.
* Participate in client presentations and design reviews.
Experience & Qualifications
* Chartered Architect with minimum 7 years post‑qualification experience in architectural practice.
* Strong understanding of planning and statutory permissions (fire safety, disability access), building regulations, ideally both in Ireland and the UK.
* Professional registration: ARB and/or RIAI.
* Strong graphical presentation skills; proficiency in Revit, BIM workflows and ISO19650 Information Management Process.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; ideally Microsoft Project.
* Adobe Creative Suite skills (Photoshop, InDesign) for design presentations.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Location: Based in Belfast; flexibility for travel across Ireland and UK.
* Experience in multiple sectors including residential, healthcare, commercial, mixed‑use, existing buildings/adaptive reuse.
* Passion for and experience of sustainable design methodologies.
* BCAR familiarity; experience managing BCAR compliance.
* ISO19650 Information Management Process fluency including BIM Execution Plans and associated documentation.
* Ideal familiarity with the Capital Works Management Framework (CWMF) in Ireland and the Building Safety Act in the UK.
