Overview
Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist (Epilepsy and Learning Disabilities) to play a leading clinical and service developmental role within Fife H&SCP Learning Disabilities Epilepsy Service.
Key Responsibilities
* The post holder will have day to day responsibility for managing the epilepsy nursing caseload across the service, the workload of others and the assessment (including requesting and managing investigations), treatment management, care planning and evaluation of patients presenting with complex learning disabilities and epilepsy.
* Day-to-day management of staff workload and caseload coordination.
* Support a multi-disciplinary partnership working across all health care and H&SCP services.
* Contribute to peer review, clinical supervision and personal/professional development.
* Work Monday to Friday, full time, and travel between NHS Fife sites.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Learning Disabilities Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.
* Recognised qualification in epilepsy care (Post Graduate Certificate / Diploma).
* Evidence of continuing professional development, including post‑registration qualification or study at Masters level.
* Advanced clinical skills, knowledge and experience, including non‑medical prescribing practice with adults across the age span presenting with learning disabilities, epilepsy and complex needs.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, leadership and team‑working experience, high‑level communication skills and critical analysis/problem‑solving skills.
* Investment in continuing personal and professional development, including the development of other staff.
* Commitment to partnership working with a range of stakeholders.
* Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme before appointment.
