Revenue Manager – Transport
Location: London
Working pattern: Hybrid
Salary: Circa £45,000 + benefits (candidates above the banding can be considered)
We are currently partnering with a train operator that is hiring a Revenue Manager to lead route-level revenue performance and manage a team within a commercially focused revenue management function.
The role
This role will take ownership of passenger revenue performance across a defined rail route or region, with responsibility for helping deliver revenue targets through effective revenue management, fare optimisation, and day-to-day pricing decisions.
You will lead a small team of analysts, coaching and developing them while staying close to the detail of revenue management decisions across fares and route performance. This is not a role for someone who wants to purely delegate; the expectation is that you will be actively involved in the decision-making process.
A key focus will be turning data and performance insight into practical commercial actions. You will work closely with wider commercial teams and contribute to projects aimed at improving revenue performance, pricing effectiveness, and customer outcomes.
The role also offers exposure to broader rail industry and commercial initiatives, with time split between core route revenue management and selected business or transport industry projects.
Why this role?
* Opportunity to own rail route-level revenue performance in a high-profile commercial team
* Hands-on role with a balance of revenue trading and commercial project exposure
* Chance to lead and develop junior analysts in a growing rail revenue management function
* Exposure to broader rail commercial and industry change initiatives, including ticketing and pricing reform projects
* Strong development opportunity for someone looking to step up into a broader commercial leadership role within transport or rail
Core requirements
* Experience in a revenue management, pricing, or yield management role with demonstrable commercial outcomes
* Strong commercial acumen and the ability to turn data insight into revenue-generating actions
* Experience within rail, transport, or a comparable revenue management environment
* Ability to coach, mentor and develop analysts or junior team members
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Confident communication skills, including presenting commercial insights to senior stakeholders
* Comfortable working to revenue targets in a fast-paced, commercially driven environment
Desirable
* Previous people management experience
* Experience working in a regulated transport or rail environment
* Intermediate Excel capability for analysis, reporting, and decision support
* Experience contributing to wider commercial transformation or revenue growth projects
