For the first 6 months the role will be on a DAYS ONLY basis – Monday to Thursday. After the 6‑month training period it will become a permanent nights shift, 4 on 4, Monday to Thursday 8:30pm – 7:00am, 40 hours per week.
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator to join our team. Through operating a variety of CNC machines you will help enhance the productivity of our organisation, producing high‑quality parts while keeping spindle time to a maximum.
The responsibilities of the role
* Setting/Operating high‑speed CNC machines to perform tasks such as milling, drilling, tapping, grinding, etc.
* General operation and supervision of other machine shop machinery.
* Ensuring all tooling, fixtures and CNC programs are available before commencing production.
* Keeping accurate records of component quantities and scrap produced on the production documentation.
* Maintaining high standards in production output and component quality.
* Understanding specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading mechanical drawings.
* Basic editing of programs and tool tables.
* Taking ownership of the component quality and records.
* Controlling, checking and replacing tooling and cutters.
* Preparing and loading raw materials and parts onto the machines.
* Checking and refilling lubricant levels.
* Knowledge and understanding of CNC 3‑axis, 4‑axis machining and Renishaw probing.
* Following company safety systems and work protocol.
What you will need
The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC machinery and a strong mechanical aptitude. High attention to detail, excellent communication skills, the ability to work to deadlines, and being organised and motivated are all necessary personal skills for this role.
