Clinical Lead – Complex Care (Learning Disabilities)
Location: Bedford and surrounding villages
Salary: Up to £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm
We are recruiting a Clinical Lead to join a well established, high quality complex care provider supporting adults with learning disabilities across Bedfordshire. This is a permanent, senior leadership role offering stability, autonomy, and real clinical influence.
The position is fully weekday based with no shifts, nights, or weekends. Services are based around Stagsden, Bridge End, Biddenham and Bromham, making this role ideal for candidates living within a 30 to 40 minute commute of Bedford. The Clinical Lead role suits nurses who want leadership responsibility without sacrificing work life balance.
The role
As Clinical Lead, you will provide visible, hands on leadership across multiple complex care services supporting adults with learning disabilities including Autism and Cerebral Palsy. You will balance clinical governance with people focused leadership, ensuring safe, compliant, and person centred care.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading, supporting, and developing a staff team of approximately 20 to 30
Providing strong clinical oversight, governance, and quality assurance
Ensuring compliance with CQC standards and internal best practice
Overseeing care planning, audits, risk assessments, and incident reviews
Working collaboratively with MDTs, families, commissioners, and senior stakeholders
Essential requirements
Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration (RNLD or RGN)
Proven experience in a clinical leadership or management role
Strong background supporting adults with learning disabilities
Experience within complex care, community, or residential services
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
