Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to ensure the stability and security of the core digital services at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. This role focuses on the delivery of the server infrastructure and the operational management of key corporate systems. The environment is complex, supporting over 3,500 staff across more than 30 sites, including five London Boroughs.
Responsibilities
* You will be on the front lines, logging and prioritizing requests for support from the help desk and staff, then determining and implementing appropriate corrective actions like modifying system parameters or developing workarounds.
* You are key to maintaining system performance, monitoring application systems, identifying performance trends, and taking corrective action to avoid problems.
* A critical part of the role involves security and compliance. You will ensure system and application components meet legal and regulatory requirements and recommend remedial action to enhance controls. You are expected to demonstrate the highest level of integrity regarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all systems.
* You will be involved in the full range of operational tasks, including working with installed and virtual hardware and software across local and wide area networks. This includes planning and implementing installation and maintenance work, especially within virtualised environments.
* Your expertise is crucial in change and configuration management, where you will assist with change requests, ensure users comply with identification standards for configuration items, and perform audits to check the accuracy of configuration information.

Skill Description
The provision of application maintenance and support services, either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. Support typically includes investigation and resolution of issues and may also include performance monitoring. Issues may be resolved by providing advice or training to users, by devising corrections (permanent or temporary) for faults, making general or site-specific modifications, updating documentation, manipulating data, or defining enhancements. Support often involves close collaboration with the system\'s developers and/or with colleagues specialising in different areas, such as Database administration or Network support.
Task Description
Identifies and resolves issues with applications, following agreed procedures. Uses application management software and tools to collect agreed performance statistics. Carries out agreed applications maintenance tasks.
