Job overview
Ward 2 is a Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward - caring for patients who have either fractured a bone or have muscular-skeletal conditions.
We are looking for a clinical support worker to join the team, which is committed to high standards of nursing care and providing a positive patient experience.
You will be required to work in support of and under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) providing nursing care and assistance to patients within defined parameters specified by the registered nurse.
Giving patients high quality care and attention and ensuring patient safety.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this job involve the provision of direct patient care, washing and dressing patients, supporting patients to maintain and improve independence, toward a safe and timely discharge.
Also including mouth care, assisting with diet and fluids, helping with toilet needs and mobility with a strong focus on the prevention of pressure ulcers.
The post holder will also be required to work with the team, to ensure a clean and safe environment to enhance patient care.
Working for our organisation
We operate from three main hospitals – Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community healthcare premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, daycase and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
