Engineering Support Engineer

Provide day-to-day engineering support and expertise in production for released products.

Evaluate new and existing production lines to identify improvements to manufacturing processes, analytical requirements, and equipment; advise appropriate engineering personnel on manufacturability, process robustness, and equipment requirements.

Ensure the smooth transition of new products into manufacturing (NPI).

Coordinate activities of personnel involved in engineering investigations and new product pilot runs.

Conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of process or analytical procedure development to determine process control and identify improvements; evaluate findings and coordinate with appropriate personnel to ensure adherence to specifications and execute improvements.

Maintain active and continuous contact with Engineering and Production teams.


Team Overview

The ME Team consists of 13 members (8 Norwich / 5 Berlin) with diverse knowledge, skills, ages, and nationalities. We meet weekly to discuss issues across sites and explore ways to leverage our skills effectively.

We engage in team activities, including participating in the Fortive Innovations Day competition, where our apprentices showcased a bench test automation solution and reached the final against 47 competitors. We also built a Soap Box in the design of a handheld multimeter and participated in the Sheringham Soap Box race.


Experience & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science in Engineering, HND, Electrical/Electronic Engineering.

Minimum of 3 years experience in production engineering.

* Expertise in electronic engineering principles, practices, and techniques used in the design and production of electronic products.
* Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing.

Strong engineering and root cause analysis problem-solving skills.

* Ability to communicate engineering concepts to non-engineers.
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrated originality, independent judgment, self-motivation, and drive.
