Case Administrator
Salary: £26,359
Job Overview
The role is based within the Offender Management Unit (OMU) at HMP Millsike. The OMU is responsible for all aspects of a prisoner’s ‘case', handling risk management, parole applications and sentence planning. As a case administrator you will provide administrative support within the OMU, working alongside probation and prison colleagues and liaising with external agencies such as local courts, police and probation.
Responsibilities
Provide administrative support for the Offender Management Unit, including:
* Processing the Offender Assessment System (OASys)
* Arranging Release on Temporary Licence (RoTL) and handling bail and BASS applications
* Managing Multi‑Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA)
* Participating in re‑categorisation of prisoners, sentence calculations and recall paperwork
* Handling public protection matters and documentation for transfers and releases, including organising resettlement boards and processing parole applications
* Maintaining accurate records and data in line with established standards and policies
Occasional contact with prisoners and officers may be required for issuing paperwork.
Person Specification
Required skills and attributes:
* Intermediate IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook, and experience updating central data systems
* Clear written communication, ensuring all correspondence meets customer expectations
* Strong verbal communication and a positive problem‑solving approach
* Excellent organisational skills and ability to work efficiently at a fast pace
* Willingness to engage in continuous learning and complete necessary training
* Adaptability to manage change and adjust working practices in response to legislative and procedural updates
* Team‑working ability
