The Opportunity
We're supporting a well-established built environment consultancy in appointing a Structural & Civil Engineering Director to take ownership of the Structural and Civils function within its highly successful Defence & Security business. This is a senior appointment with genuine scope to influence, develop and grow a well-established discipline within a respected consultancy.
The Role
Reporting into the Head of Defence, this position sits at the core of the leadership team and blends strategic planning, commercial growth, client leadership and oversight of delivery. You will be responsible for setting the direction of the Structural and Civil Engineering offering across the Defence & Security sector, with a strong emphasis on building capability, increasing revenues and sustaining the highest standards of service and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
You will take overall ownership of the Structural and Civils function within Defence & Security, lead growth across both revenue and market presence, and build, develop and maintain senior client relationships across public and private sectors. The role also involves defining and implementing the Structural and Civil Engineering strategy across the business unit, while ensuring consistent performance, governance and quality across all projects.
The Ideal Candidate
You will bring senior leadership experience within a Structural & Civil or Civil & Structural consultancy, along with strong commercial awareness and a proven ability to drive growth. You will be confident operating at board or divisional leadership level, comfortable working with complex Defence & Security stakeholders, and able to demonstrate success in growing teams, income and sector capability.
