Are you currently working in the fire and security industry and ready for your next challenge? We're looking for a skilled Small Works Fire and Security Engineer to join our team in Yorkshire and surrounding areas. In this role, you'll be providing second fixings to a range of clients' alarm systems, emergency lighting, and security systems. The role also includes occasional PPMs on alarms and fire extinguisher servicing, helping to ensure all systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. What you receive for joining us: We’re offering a salary of £30,000–£40,000, a company vehicle, and 10% commission on parts used during first fixing. There’s also plenty of overtime, paid door-to-door at 1.5x Monday to Saturday and 2x on Sundays. We believe in a healthy work-life balance, so travel time is included in your working day for journeys over two hours, meaning you’re not spending long periods on the road in your own time. Overnight stays are rare, and you’ll also get 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, along with an extra day off to celebrate your birthday. Here’s a look at some of the things you’ll be doing: Attend pre-diagnosed jobs to replace faulty components identified during a recent service by another team member, such as alarm heads, interface devices, sensors, and security alarm system parts, ensuring everything is up and running again. Commission fire extinguishers, including servicing and repairs, ensuring they are fully operational and compliant with safety standards. Replace faulty or non-working emergency lighting and conduct thorough testing once installed or repaired to ensure full functionality and compliance with safety standards. Conduct occasional Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on fire and security systems, ensuring optimal performance. Identify issues, repair as needed, suggest solutions, and follow established protocols to maintain system reliability and compliance with safety regulations. Can you show experience in some of these areas: Ideally electrically qualified; however, candidates with a proven electrical background and a clear understanding of current wiring regulations will also be considered. In-depth knowledge of current fire and security regulations, with the ability to provide accurate, compliant advice to clients when repairing or servicing systems on-site. Demonstrated experience working with a range of fire alarm panels and systems, including GENT, Advance, and Kentec, with GENT certification considered a strong advantage. Full UK driving licence required, along with the flexibility to travel throughout Yorkshire and nearby areas to support clients with high-quality service. Do you see yourself reflected in the description above? If so, we encourage you to submit your application today. Uncertain whether your skills align perfectly?
