We are seeking an AI Legal Counsel to join our Legal function and provide legal support for the implementation, use, and governance of AI technologies across the organization.
This is a hands-on role focused primarily on AI-enabled products, internal AI use cases, and customer-facing AI offerings, while also supporting privacy and data protection matters, including data governance, regulatory compliance, and contractual review, and ensuring compliance with evolving global regulatory requirements.
The role is suited to a lawyer with strong experience and interest in AI, technology, data protection, and product counseling, who is comfortable partnering closely with product, engineering, sales, security, and other cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-moving, global environment.
Location & Working Model: London (Hybrid flexible) or Remote (UK)
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide hands-on legal support for AI matters across the organization, including internal AI use and AI-enabled products and services.
* Support and contribute to AI risk assessments, DPIAs, and other legal and regulatory assessments relating to AI, privacy, and data use. Assist in the development, maintenance, and operation of AI governance frameworks, policies, processes, and documentation, and support related privacy governance activities where relevant.
* Review AI products, features, models, and use cases from an AI regulatory, privacy, and broader legal risk perspective, and provide practical guidance to support product development and deployment.
* Support legal review of third-party AI tools, vendors, and partners, including AI- and privacy-related due diligence and risk assessment.
* Assist in drafting and reviewing internal policies, customer-facing terms, vendor terms, DPAs, guidance, and contractual language relating to AI, data protection, privacy, and responsible technology use.
* Work closely with legal, privacy, product, sales, security, and other cross-functional stakeholders to enable compliant, responsible, and scalable AI deployment across the business.
Qualifications & Experience required:
* Academic and professional qualification in Law.
* 3-5 years' experience in AI, technology, privacy, product counseling, data protection, or digital regulation.
* Strong knowledge of emerging AI regulation, in particular the EU AI Act, as well as privacy and data protection law and core data processing principles.
* Familiarity with AI governance concepts, including risk classification, transparency, human oversight, accountability, and related assessment and documentation requirements.
* Experience drafting and reviewing policies, guidance, contractual language, and data processing agreements related to AI, privacy, and technology products or services is an advantage.
* Experience preparing and/or supporting assessments such as AI risk assessments, DPIAs, and vendor due diligence reviews.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
* Experience with OneTrust Data Mapping and Assessments modules is a strong advantage.
* Experience working in a global, multi-country, multicultural organization is an advantage.
