Asda Opticians prioritises the health and wellbeing of our customers by delivering high quality patient care and service. The role involves completing eye examinations, contact lens and extended service examinations. You will work alongside the Dispensing Optician Manager to support colleagues with training, coaching, and maintaining departmental standards. As part of our extended NHS service contracts, you will support treatment and monitoring of eye conditions and will be provided support to gain any additional accreditations.
Your professional development is fully supported, including CPD, protected time for additional accreditations, and optional supervision of students. You will have a supportive in‑store, regional and home office team to assist with clinical and service queries.
Shift Pattern
* Week 1: Saturday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 9:00 – 17:30
* Week 2: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 17:30
Qualifications
* A fully qualified optometrist registered with the GOC
* Registered performer with NHS area team or health board
* MECs or WECs accredited, or willing to gain accreditation within 12 months of joining (funded and supported)
* On track to meet statutory CPD points requirement
* Able to use your skills and passion to deliver a memorable customer experience
* Passionate about developing new patient services and shaping department culture
Requirements
* Right to work in the UK
* Evidence of NHS performer list for the nation of work, plus two clinical references
* For Wales applicants: evidence of WECS accreditation & WGOS module accreditation
