NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Directorate has an opportunity for an outstanding individual to Lead the Pharmacy Community Health Services team, and deliver integrated high quality clinical pharmacy services to patients across a range of community and frailty pathways, at a time of significant transformation across NHS Fife.
NHS Fife is currently planning to transform Frailty/Elderly Care and Community Health Services in line with Scottish Government direction and has developed a strategic plan to enhance Frailty and ‘virtual’ health services across Fife. This post will be an essential contributor to this vision and provide the overarching clinical leadership for Pharmacy and Medicines to all care settings within this Community Health Portfolio.
This post would suit someone with excellent clinical knowledge, experience / desire to lead at a senior level in an organisation as well as excellent communication skills. You will have significant experience within clinical pharmacy and as part of your role, you will have a regular clinical commitment and practice as an independent prescriber within Community Health services and / or Frailty.
You will lead a complex and diverse portfolio of speciality Community Health Services including Hospital @ Home services, Palliative Care Services, Rehabilitation services and Frailty, Stroke and Elderly care services across Community Hospital and Acute settings.
Whilst you may have previously worked in a single speciality, we are looking for those eager to diversify their portfolios and provide clinical leadership over all specialities within Frailty and Community Health Services.
This role will also provide senior leadership input to both the Clinical and Pharmacy Leadership teams ensuring operational and strategic priorities are delivered in line with department, Board and national priorities. You will be supported by a forward thinking and inspiring clinical pharmacy team, who are currently reviewing the clinical pharmacy vision and developing a transformation plan.
The NHS Fife Pharmacy and Medicines Service provides an ambitious programme of integrated care to the persons of Fife. It serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by a team of around 300 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team operate across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.
As part of our staff engagement and leadership, our Pharmacy Senior Leadership hold monthly staff briefing sessions to update the team on new developments, celebrate achievements and to engage with our staff.
