1:1 Teaching Assistant (TA) Location: Plymouth Start Date: September Part-time £95-£100 per day About the Role: Are you passionate about helping children thrive in a school environment? Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with additional learning needs in a warm, welcoming school setting. This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to build a meaningful connection and make a genuine impact on a young person’s educational journey. You’ll play a vital role in helping this pupil develop both academically and socially, while giving them the tools to grow in independence and self-esteem. While this is a 1:1 role, you’ll be part of a wider support network within the school and Vision for Education. Collaboration is key, and your insights and contributions will be valued by staff who share your passion for inclusive education. This isn’t just about helping with lessons, this is about changing lives. You’ll work closely with a single pupil who may have additional needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. Your role will be to build trust, reduce barriers to learning, and help them access the curriculum in a way that works for them. What You'll Be Doing: Providing tailored, one-to-one support for a pupil with specific learning or behavioural needs Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver targeted interventions Encouraging confidence, independence, and positive learning outcomes Helping to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment About the School: We work with a variety of fantastic schools across Plymouth, and we’ll match you with the one that best suits your skills, experience, and personality. What We’re Looking For: Experience working with children or young people – particularly in a 1:1 or SEN setting A positive, proactive, and patient attitude The ability to build strong, trusting relationships A commitment to promoting inclusion and supporting pupils to reach their full potential Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 TA, CACHE, etc.) are desirable but not essential.
