About the Water Utilities Division
The Water Utilities Division is the centre of excellence for tackling the UK and Ireland’s water and wastewater challenges. We provide end‑to‑end services, from advisory and feasibility studies to design and delivery of innovative, sustainable solutions.
Overview of the Role
The Asset Management and Infrastructure Planning team is one of five sub‑sectors within the Water Utilities Division. We are looking for a Senior Consultant Assurance to lead key technical assurance activities and support our clients’ regulatory compliance and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead technical assurance of statutory regulatory submissions (annual performance reporting, business cases, long‑term strategic plans, and operational performance deliverables).
* Assess and ensure compliance with asset management ISO standards and regulatory requirements.
* Provide expert advice on water resource and wastewater investment planning, carbon and net‑zero appraisal, and integrated system management.
* Develop and deliver assurance findings through formal presentations, reports, and decision‑support tools.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and deliver scalable assurance solutions.
* Travel throughout the UK and undertake short international assignments as required.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Regulatory technical assurance experience linked to the water industry's Asset Management Planning cycles.
* Academic and professional qualifications relevant to engineering, accounting/economics, asset management, or auditing.
* Experience with statutory regulatory submissions and the assessment of regulatory impacts on service metrics and performance commitments.
* Deep knowledge of ISO standards, technical audits, and asset management frameworks.
* Strong communication skills – ability to present assurance findings clearly in both written reports and oral presentations.
* Adaptability to changing contexts and proactive responsiveness to emerging opportunities and risks.
* Willingness to undertake assignments across the UK and short international visits.
