Join Hedges Law as the Head of Family Solicitor and lead a team of family law specialists serving high net worth clients. This fully‑time, senior‑level position offers a base salary of £120,000 plus employee shares, profit share and extensive benefits.
Role Overview
The Head of Family Solicitor will manage the Family Law Team, provide best‑in‑class legal advice, and oversee the delivery of high‑quality services for clients across divorce, financial remedy and other family matters. You will shape the strategic direction of the team, mentor junior solicitors, and contribute to the firm’s growth and client development.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise on all family‑related matters including divorce, separation, children’s disputes, financial remedy claims, pre‑ and post‑nuptial settlements, domestic violence, cohabitation matters, ToLATA claims, surrogacy, and adoption.
* Deliver high‑quality legal services with outstanding client care.
* Develop and maintain billing practices, ensuring a solid billing history and clean claims record.
* Support the growth of the firm through marketing and business development initiatives.
* Champion a people‑first culture, helping to nurture teamwork, learning and professional development.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and the firm’s standards.
Qualifications
* Qualified solicitor with significant experience in family law, especially in high net worth financial remedy claims and contested proceedings.
* Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
* Excellent IT skills and a willingness to learn new ways of working.
* Warm, personable, and positive with a can‑do attitude.
* Experience in billing and a clean claims record.
