Job Overview
Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a full‑time HVAC Engineer for the Knowsley Schools contract in Liverpool. The role involves maintaining air conditioning, refrigeration, and related plant, ensuring safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction. A competitive salary and benefits package are offered. Key responsibilities:
* Accountable for all spaces, environmental/temperature control rooms, and equipment; minimize downtime during breakdowns.
* Fault find on all A/C units, refrigeration systems, and chiller plant.
* Maintain and update F‑Gas logbooks, recoveries, and additions.
* Plan and oversee all service visits with subcontractors for refrigeration systems.
* Repair, pressure test, vacuum dehydrate, charge, and re‑commission A/C units as required.
* Ensure PPM and reactive jobs are processed within budget and time.
* Document daily job sheets and PPM logs via CAFM systems.
* Participate in on‑call rota and respond to out‑of‑hours call‑outs.
* Prepare and submit condition/dilapidation reports, accident returns, and near‑miss documentation.
* Adhere to health and safety policy, PPE use, calibration of test equipment, and method statements.
Qualifications and Experience
* Recognised EITB or CITB apprenticeship or similar approved training.
* Minimum NVQ Level 2 qualifications for air conditioning engineers.
* Full knowledge of major manufacturer systems and equipment.
* Strong fault‑finding and practical skills.
* Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team.
* Very strong Excel and IT skills.
* Driving licence essential.
