Maintenance Engineer
Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group, with multiple sites worldwide. They are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their production and packaging team due to growth and continuous improvement projects at the site.

East London (E16)
Working pattern
Monday – Friday Days (7:00 am – 3:00 pm)
Salary
GBP 55,000 + overtime

Role and Responsibilities
* Carry out planned, reactive maintenance and safety checks on high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, conveyors, metal detectors, labellers, baggers, checkweighers, PLCs, control panels, robotics, and depositors
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding, repairs, strip-downs and overhauls
* Working on motors, gearboxes, VSDs, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, bearings
* Improve plant availability, reliability and contribute to continuous improvement activities
* Monitor contractors on site, order spares and parts
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
* Ideally completed a recognised apprenticeship
* HNC / HND qualified in Engineering
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem-solving skills
* Experience with industrial processing and manufacturing systems
* Must have worked in a similar food manufacturing or FMCG environment
* Knowledge of electrical safety isolation procedures (beneficial)
* Experience with motors, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, VSDs, pneumatics, drives
* Experience using SAP (beneficial)
* PLC systems experience (advantageous)
* Experience working in ATEX / CompEX environments (beneficial)
