We are currently seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our Technical team as a Brick Process Engineer.
As a Central Brick Process Engineer, you will liaise with Engineering, Quality, and Operational plants supporting Aircrete, Brick, and Concrete. Your responsibilities include delivering process and innovation improvements in quality, delivery, sustainability, and cost.
You will act as the process improvement lead for resolving issues related to process, materials, and technical aspects. Additionally, you will lead initiatives in cost savings, product development, sustainability, and process realization through New Product Development and Innovation projects assigned by the Technical Operations Manager.
Your duties include but are not limited to:
* Technical Operational Support and Guidance:
o Lead material development and optimization projects on-site, including raw material change, process optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
o Serve as a subject matter expert in process scaling from lab to pilot to plant.
o Act as a problem-solving resource on-site/plant.
* Implement effective change management to sustain process improvements.
* Share knowledge with operators and maintenance staff in layman's terms.
* Support process engineering during new plant start-ups, including design, commissioning, and handover activities.
Process Engineering Development and Plant Optimization:
* Conduct trials to reduce material overage, maintain process capability, and meet compliance.
* Lead technical aspects of new product development projects, including trials, documentation, and product integrity.
* Drive process improvements related to CAPEX, quality, innovation, and equipment.
* Implement systems and technologies to reduce reliance on paper-based systems and incorporate new technologies like AI and cameras.
* Engage in activities to reduce energy use, over-processing, and overproduction, focusing on innovation.
Process Improvement, Sustainability & Innovation:
* Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to ensure compliance and assurance.
* Apply continuous improvement tools such as 5 Whys, FMEA, and Cause and Effect Analysis.
* Lead process innovation projects using ICE ranking methodology.
Mentorship and Development:
* Mentor junior staff in material technology.
* Support on-site technical training for all staff levels.
* Encourage personal development and continuous improvement through WCM philosophies, tools, and techniques.
About You:
* Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Teams.
* Background in Material Science, Science Management, or Process Engineering (Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience).
* Over 10 years of experience preferred, with certifications like 6 Sigma Green Belt being advantageous.
