Job Title:

· External: Software Engineer Level: C3

· Internal: Consultant 3

Role overview:

As a Software Engineer Level: C3, you will play an important role within the Software Engineering function. Working as part of a small, product-focused team, you will contribute both to the core product development of the LEA Reply Supplier Portal and to customer project delivery where the solution is implemented.

The Supplier Portal is a core component of the LEA Reply suite. It enables brands to meet the shipping, labelling, and Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) integration standards required by major UK grocery retailers when fulfilling orders into regional and national distribution centres. Originally developed in partnership with M&S, the solution has since expanded to support a broad range of leading grocery retailers across the UK.

In this role, you will take responsibility for designing and enhancing reusable product capabilities, improving performance, and contributing to the product roadmap. You will also support our customers by resolving product issues, configuring the solution during project implementations, developing product-aligned extensions where required, and ensuring that real operational feedback influences ongoing product evolution.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys building high-quality product software while remaining close to customer use cases. You will have the opportunity to shape a widely used solution while ensuring it continues to evolve in a valuable, scalable, and practical way.

Your contractual place of work will be either our London or Manchester office, with a hybrid working policy that allows you to work from home unless required to attend the office for collaboration, meetings, training, reviews, or customer engagements, or to work on-site with customers or prospects as necessary

Key Responsibilities:

· Work as part of a small team to refine roadmap requirements and evaluate technical feasibility.

· Ensure solutions are reusable, modular, scalable, and aligned with the overall LEA Reply architectural standards.

· Participate in code reviews, refactoring, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Customer Delivery Support

· Support the project team in implementing the Supplier Portal for customer deployments.

· Configure the solution based on functional and operational requirements.

· Develop targeted enhancements or integrations where these align with the broader product direction.

· Provide technical analysis and troubleshooting during testing, go-live, and hypercare.

Quality & Testing

· Write clean, testable code with appropriate unit, integration, and regression coverage.

· Collaborate with QA to support automated testing and ensure product robustness across releases.

Release & Maintenance

· Contribute to product release planning, documentation, versioning, deployment processes, and post-release monitoring.

· Help investigate and resolve product issues raised from live environments, feeding learning back into ongoing development.

Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

· Share product and technical knowledge with delivery and support teams to strengthen capability across the organisation.

· Mentor and support junior engineers where appropriate.
