Shift Engineer Food Manufacturing

We are looking for a hands-on Shift Engineer to join a busy food manufacturing operation. In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping production machinery running smoothly, performing maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on production equipment.
* Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults to minimize downtime.
* Assist with installation and commissioning of new machinery.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records for compliance and performance tracking.
* Work closely with production teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.
* Follow health and safety procedures to maintain a safe workplace.
What Were Looking For
* Relevant engineering qualification or time-served apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
* Practical experience in a manufacturing or food processing environment.
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
* Flexible and willing to work rotating shifts (7/14, days and nights).
* Proactive problem‑solver with good communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable: PLC experience, exposure to continuous improvement programs, multiskilled in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
