Probate Solicitor / Legal Executive – Private Client
HarKaye Core Talent is currently partnering with a well-established and highly regarded Yorkshire law firm to recruit a Probate Solicitor / Legal Executive to join its growing Private Client team based in York.
This opportunity would suit either:
* A Newly Qualified Solicitor with experience in Wills & Probate, or
* An experienced Solicitor / Legal Executive looking to take the next step in their career.
You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team with a strong reputation for delivering exceptional client care across Private Client matters.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of Private Client matters including:
* Wills
* Probate and Estate Administration
* Lasting Powers of Attorney
* Client advisory work
* Supporting wider team matters where required
This role offers excellent long-term progression within a forward-thinking and people-focused legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing your own caseload of Private Client matters
* Taking initial client instructions and providing tailored legal advice
* Drafting Wills and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney
* Administering estates and Probate matters
* Handling new client enquiries
* Supporting colleagues within the Private Client team
* Billing files and managing financial aspects of matters
* Maintaining up-to-date legal knowledge and compliance standards
About You
The ideal candidate will be:
* Organised and methodical
* Client-focused with excellent communication skills
* Able to manage deadlines efficiently
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively
* Detail-oriented with strong technical accuracy
* Confident using legal systems and IT platforms
* Proactive with a positive and adaptable approach
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years’ experience within Wills & Probate preferred
* All levels of PQE considered
* Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with a current practising certificate (or equivalent)
* Full UK driving licence preferred
