About the role
We are looking for an experienced Quality Advisor to join our team, based at our Head Office in Maxim Park, Motherwell. This role will support and improve Quality performance across the business by driving a culture of Right First Time, reducing the Cost of Quality, and embedding continuous improvement across Overhead Line (OHL) and wider project activities.
This role is based at our Head Office in Maxim Park, Motherwell, however candidates must be flexible and willing to travel regularly to sites across Scotland to support project delivery.
What you’ll be doing
* Support the delivery of Contract, Business Unit and SBU Quality Action Plans
* Assist in the development and implementation of Quality Management plans (including contract-specific and industry standards)
* Promote continuous improvement by challenging existing systems and processes to ensure best practice
* Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Business Management System
* Support and deliver Quality-related improvement initiatives
* Provide guidance, coaching and support to project teams on Quality matters
* Assist in delivering Quality training to improve capability across the business
* Work closely with audit functions to support internal and external audits where required
* Ensure contracts remain compliant with Balfour Beatty standards and client requirements
* Provide Quality support and guidance to the supply chain
* Contribute Quality input into tender submissions and bidding processes where required
* Produce reports and management information to monitor Quality performance
Who we’re looking for
Essential:
* A strong understanding of, and commitment to, Quality Management principles
* Ability to coach and support teams to drive improvement
* Strong relationship-building skills with project teams and stakeholders
* Working towards, or willing to work towards, CQI Practitioner status
* Competent in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
Desirable:
* Knowledge of the construction, infrastructure or utilities sector (ideally OHL projects)
* Understanding of ISO 9001 and internal auditing processes
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
* High attention to detail with the ability to see tasks through to completion
* Ability to produce clear, objective written and verbal reports
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Self‑motivated with strong time management skills
* Proactive, enquiring mindset with a continuous improvement approach
* Ability to work effectively within multi‑disciplinary teams
* Resilient, adaptable and able to use initiative
