Senior Residential Child Care Worker
Salary £32,061 – £36,363 per annum
Permanent, Full Time, 37 hours per week, North Lancashire

Join the Where Our Children Live programme: Lancashire County Council’s Residential Service is expanding, creating safe, supportive homes for children in care.
In this role you will lead and support a team of Residential Childcare Workers, championing the care, safety and development of children with complex needs. You will implement care plans, promote education, support emotional well‑being, manage shifts, and act as a role model for best practice, integrity and compassion.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and mentoring staff during shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and sleep‑in duties.
* Implementing individual care plans and promoting educational and therapeutic activities.
* Managing risk, conducting safeguarding reviews and maintaining high standards of child welfare.
* Co‑ordinating inspections, safeguarding inquiries and ensuring all record‑keeping complies with legislation.
Working on a rota basis, you will cover a mix of days, evenings, weekends and sleep‑in shifts.
Qualifications
* At least 3 years’ experience in children's social care or residential settings.
* Holding a QCF Level 4 or NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant field.
* Confident in leading shifts, mentoring staff and managing risk.
* Well‑understood knowledge of children's legislation and safeguarding practice.
