Learning Support Assistant
Contract: Term-Time Only (36 weeks), Full-Time or Part-Time
Location: Epsom, Surrey (on-site)
Overview
Our client is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join their learner support team. The role involves providing in-class and one-to-one support to students with a diverse range of learning needs, helping them develop independence, confidence and essential study skills. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting young people in an educational environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide in-class support to learners across a variety of vocational subjects.
* Act as an advocate for students and promote inclusive learning practices.
* Support students in developing learning strategies, communication skills and independence.
* Assist students with physical or medical needs, including aspects of personal care where required.
* Maintain accurate records and use IT systems to support administrative tasks.
* Work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to ensure positive learner outcomes.
Requirements
* Strong organisational and teamworking skills.
* Confident using IT for administrative and support tasks.
* GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.
* Empathy, patience and understanding towards students with learning difficulties, behavioural challenges or additional support needs.
* Flexibility to work across different vocational areas as required.
