Overview
Dudley is seeking to recruit two fixed term interim Consultants in Public Health on a fixed term contract for a period of 12 months with possibility of extension. This is an exciting time as the Council is implementing a whole Council improvement plan with a strong focus on tackling health inequalities, building healthier communities and embedding public health approaches across services.
The post will lead the Council’s public health services across the life course, including the commissioning and provision of evidence-based and intelligence-led services to protect and improve health and wellbeing. The role will support mobilising and integrating recently procured Public Health services, improving physical activities, embedding health in all policies, and providing public health expertise to system alliances to influence priorities and outcomes. It will also support community development and community empowerment.
Responsibilities
* Lead the Council’s public health services across the life course.
* Commission and provide evidence-based and intelligence-led services to protect and improve health and wellbeing across the life course.
* Support mobilisation and integration of recently procured Public Health services.
* Support improving physical activities and embedding health in all policies.
* Provide public health expertise and advise to system alliances to influence intelligence-led priorities.
* Support community development and community empowerment.
Qualifications and requirements
* Track record of delivery as inspirational public health leaders and agile team players with high-level skills across transformation, policy and programme development that embeds a public health approach.
* Ability to work full-time or part-time (37 hours per week or part-time/job-share considered).
* Salary: £83,707 – £87,466.
* Experience of leading commissioning and provision of public health services and a demonstrated ability to work across organisational boundaries.
