We have an exciting opportunity for the right person to work within the challenging and ever-changing landscape of Highways Operations. Successful applicants will need to be able to assist in leading a multi-disciplinary team of operational staff delivering a wide range of construction, administration, and logistic activities.
The role is responsible for managing logistics and material procurement for the Highways Depot. Knowledge of inventory management and logistics software is essential, although training can be provided for the right applicant. The role will require close liaising with the Highways Operations Assistant Managers and Operations Engineers, the wider management team in Highways and Transportation, and relevant stakeholders. You will also be the line manager for up to 10 operational staff. The role is based in Penrith but will require regular site visits to assess and ascertain progress of works and to work from other depots across Westmorland and Furness. We are looking for organized, experienced, and enthusiastic Assistant Engineers and logisticians, team players, and professionals who are keen to learn and progress within the Highways Service.
