Overview

Clinical Support Worker role at Herbal Hills. The post involves high quality, caring and compassionate personal care and related duties under the direction of the registered professional and within the multi-disciplinary team.

Location: The Orchard Centre, Lower Hillmorton Road, Rugby, CV21 3SR. Pay: £24,465 per annum. Contract: Permanent. Working pattern: Part-time. Job reference: 203-FH1107.

Job Responsibilities

* Professional Values
o Act in a professional manner and ensure Trust standards are maintained and monitored to improve the quality of care.
o Uphold Trust values and standards at all times.
o Maintain records and documentation, keep information confidential and meet Trust standards in line with the Data Protection Act.
o Promote a professional and positive working environment; support high morale and motivation within the team.
o Report accidents or incidents as described by Trust policy; support an open and transparent culture.
o Take reasonable care of health and safety for self and others; adhere to dress code
o Assist other wards, departments and teams as required by service needs; comply with IT policies; ensure safeguarding of children and adults as per Trust policies.
* Clinical Practice
o Carry out instructions of the registered professional who is accountable for care.
o Perform core tasks listed for Clinical Support Workers/Health Care Assistants.
o Report concerns or changes in patient condition to the registered professional; provide and deliver high standard, individualized care under supervision.
o Document all care delivered; countersigned by a registered professional and maintain confidentiality.
o Assist with preparation for treatment, investigations or procedures; keep the clinical area clean and safe; follow infection control procedures.
o Chaperone/escort patients as needed; support relatives with compassion and empathy; assist with discharge as directed.
* Communications and Interpersonal Relationships
o Welcome patients, relatives and visitors; communicate effectively and be aware of barriers to communication.
o Introduce yourself in line with privacy and dignity promises; answer telephone inquiries politely; coordinate care within the clinical area.
o Report incidents and participate in handover and documentation of patient care; maintain confidentiality.
o Use the Trust information systems as required.
* Team Working
o Keep patients’ property safe; promote a professional, welcoming, and uncluttered environment.
o Share responsibility for equipment care and cleaning; dispose of waste and soiled linen per policy; participate in audits as directed.
o Prepare beds and spaces following discharge and in preparation for admission; manage stock levels; support housekeeping duties where needed.
* Education, Training and Personal Development
o Attend mandatory training (infection control, resuscitation, manual handling).
o Complete induction programme and participate in appraisal; undertake relevant IT and clinical skills training; pursue personal development aligned with department objectives.


Qualifications and Requirements

Essential

* GCSE level A-C in English and Maths or equivalent (educational level).
* Experience working as part of a team.
* Able to work to an agreed level of competency; good written, verbal and non-verbal communication; competent IT skills.
* Ability to organise and prioritise workload; write accurately and legibly.
* Able to work as part of a team; compassionate, caring, empathetic and reliable.
* Passes pre-employment checks; able to work flexibly over a 24-hour period; able to perform moderate to intense physical effort and handle emotionally demanding environments with appropriate support.

Desirable

* Experience delivering care in healthcare or people-centered environments.
